APMP Frequently Asked Questions

Why get APMP certified?

It shows the world (and your boss) that you know what you’re doing when it comes to bids.
No noise. No fluff. Just skills that actually count.

What does the workshop cover?

Our workshops are designed to get you exam-ready without drowning you in theory. We cover:

  • A clear walkthrough of the selected APMP syllabus and key principles

  • The topics that come up most often in the exam

  • Representative questions completed during the session (your answers stay private, but we talk through the logic together)

  • A guided look at the official sample exam, so there are no surprises

  • A live demo of the online exam portal, so you know exactly what to expect

  • Real-world examples that bring the content to life, not just slides

  • A clear breakdown of the multiple-choice format and question style

  • How to stay compliant for proctored exams (Practitioner and Capture Practitioner only).

Who delivers the training?

All our trainers are APMP certified and authorised to deliver all APMP programmes. They hold Professional level certification plus all six micro-certifications and have delivered APMP training to hundreds of delegates worldwide.

In short, they know the exams and they know how bids work in the real world.

How long is the workshop and when is it delivered?

Sessions are designed to be engaging, practical and accessible across time zones. Whether you’re based in the UK, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East or further afield, you’ll be able to join without setting an alarm for silly o’clock.

How does the exam work?

APMP exams are online, multiple-choice tests with a set time limit. If English isn’t your first language or you need additional support, extra time is available. You’ll have up to 12 months after the workshop to sit the exam. During the session, we’ll show you exactly how to access and navigate the exam portal, so there’s no guesswork later.

What feedback do you get from delegates?

Our training consistently receives 5 out of 5 stars for trainer effectiveness, workshop quality and overall satisfaction.

Do I need to do anything before the course?

There’s no mandatory pre-work. Reading the official APMP materials beforehand can give you a head start, but everything you need will be covered during the session.

What’s the format of the workshop?

The workshop is live and trainer-led. It includes guided teaching, group discussion and representative questions completed privately, followed by a shared walk-through of the answers and rationale.

Do I need to be an APMP member to take the exam?

The short answer is: yes, it makes sense.

Foundation and micro-certifications

APMP membership isn’t mandatory, but it is strongly recommended.

Membership usually works out cheaper overall. APMP members benefit from BluPug’s reduced exam rate and get access to the APMP Body of Knowledge, which sits at the heart of the exam content. Non-members pay a higher public exam rate and don’t have access to the Body of Knowledge.

Practitioner and Professional

APMP membership is required.

Membership is quick to set up directly through the APMP website and reduced rates are available for a range of groups. If you’re not sure which option applies to you, we’re happy to point you in the right direction.

Do I need experience to take the exams?

APMP recommends the following experience levels:

  • Foundation – 1 year

  • Practitioner and Capture Practitioner – 3 years

  • Professional – 7 years

  • Micro-certifications – no formal experience required, though some topic familiarity helps.

Can I ask questions after the workshop?

Yes. All participants have the option of a one-to-one follow-up call with a trainer to ask questions, clarify topics and get personalised support while preparing for the exam.

What if I can’t attend on the day?

No drama. We get that life throws curved balls. If you can’t attend, we’ll move you to the next suitable session at no extra cost. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can secure your place.
